Due to the cost of the Nashville KOA (upwards of $250 a night…*cue heart attack lol) we originally booked a local state park about 45 mins from Nashville, TN. It would have electric/water only, which meant we would have had to take the “poopoo” tank each day after showers, dishes, laundry, etc. to the dump station. The park also did not have a ton of options for things to do, with one trail mentioned and no large body of water to cool off at.

About a week before we left, I decided to change it up – I searched for other possible options in the Nashville area, and landed on a website for Grand Ole RV Resort, about 20 minutes from Nashville, in Goodlettsville, TN.

I called and booked quickly, as the fee was only $47 a night + tax for a full hookup sight. When we arrived around dinner time June 4th, we checked in at the office and were escorted to our site, which was a double site? Two rigs could back in on either side. It would have served better as a pull through but for this park, I believe it helps for those camping together, maybe? I am not sure where to list this as a pro or con, so I will go ahead and say they have live music every night… We could hear from our camper since we were parked closer. It isn’t our cup of tea, but for some, it may be.

We did not get many pictures at the park – we spent most days exploring the area. 🙂 Here are our pros and cons for this park:

PROS:

  1. Decently priced
  2. Breakfast and dinner options for purchase
  3. Access to a super cute little town with precious antique stores and only 20-25 mins from Nashville
  4. Knowledgeable staff/family run
  5. Full Hookup

CONS:

  1. Located right next to a very active train track which runs at all hours of the day. It did not bother us, but for some it may be a turnoff.
  2. Minimal amenities – no pool, trail, dog park
  3. Tight spaces + some spaces are right by a main road

Overall, our rating for this campground would be 7/10 due to lacking some important amenities for out of town folks. Staying here you will definitely want a vehicle you can take into town or around Nashville or be prepared to taxi/uber. Have you stayed at this sweet park? Let us know your thoughts!
